It's taken a lot of interfacing, and there has been a lot of interesting fabrics!! I think the most interesting is the ski jacket (the red & black). I have also cut up some boxers, suit jackets, pants, jeans and khakis! It sure will be an interesting quilt, but I needed to cut up the clothes before I got much further!

Cloth pads
I haven't posted about my cloth in a while, mainly because I've been working on other things.
But recently our washer broke, and if I don't get to the laundry enough, I've ran out of pads!

July Goals
Well my June goals were in the middle of the month, so shall be my July goals :p Things have been kind of slow around here, mainly because I cannot share pictures of anything :( BOO!!! I have one top done, and am close on others.
We spent last week at a lake cabin with my husbands family, I took the featherweight and got some sewing done. Which I am hoping to show soon.
on to the goals!
1. Post in my blog 7 times a month. This one will be a stretch this month!! We have been busy since we got back from the lake, we are moving at the end of this month, so the packing has begun. I have also been working on going through some of my craft stuff to cut down, like the five billion quilting magazines. Which I love, but I am culling them down. Pulling out the patterns I like, and I will putt hem in page protectors in a binder.
2. Finish 10 quilts this year. I am on track for this. School is starting up again soon (ACK! when did that happen!) and with moving and some other things going on in our lives, hopefully I can get some stuff accomplished!
3. And last but not least, get some UFOs done. I haven't worked on that one at all, I am too busy on some other things. It will definitely move to the top of the list once I get those projects done!

June goals check in
My June goals check is in late!! This school year has been crazy!! I haven't had much time to myself, and when I have, I have been sewing!! Without further ado, my goals for 2014. . .
1. Post in my blog 7 times a month. I have been doing this!! maybe I should try 10 times a month, but I know when August and September hit, I might not get that. But let's try!
2. I had changed this to finish 10 quilts this year. Well I am on finish #5 (not posted yet) and I have 5 quilts I am currently working on (that I would like to have finished by the end of summer), then I also have two quilt tops done (that needs to be quilted), one other top that is almost done. So maybe I will push this one to 15 finishes this year!
3. This is the one I need to start on, I have one UFO that is in rows, that I plan on actually making into two quilts. And I would really like to get a good start on my husbands tee shirt quilt! so much to do!

Scrappy binding

When I put the binding on my disappearing nine patch I decided to do a scrappy binding, I used purples, blacks and whites. And then for part of it black thread, and the other white.

Bow ties

Last night at sit n stitch I got the binding on a quilt (woohoo!! finish #4 of the year) but I don't have pictures yesterday.
After I finished that I worked on a paper piecing block (which I need to ship before I post pictures of it!) Then I worked on my bow ties, I sewed them into twosies, and then put them into foursies!! I am SO excited! I know I am NO where near close to having enough for a full size quilt for me.

Finish #2!

I wanted to give this to my MIL for mothers day, I was planning on seeing her, but my husband and I changed our plans and I went to visit him while he was in Colorado for work. So I finished this before I could leave!

I quilted about a 1/4" around each bird, even in between their legs.

Then I went around the B a few different times with differing distances.

And here it is on her dining room table.

Disappearing nine patch on the design wall

Here are my disappearing nine patch blocks on my design wall. They sure do work up fast!!
I think I have enough blocks done! Now I just need to sew them into rows. I am still trying to decide how I will quilt it, I am going to do this one on my home machine.

Disappearing nine patch

I asked on the quiltville open studio facebook page if anyone could suggest a quick pattern. And they suggested a disappearing nine patch. I have always wanted to do one, but just haven't. So this was a great excuse to!!
It really does come together quite quickly. I sewed four blocks together, and cut them apart, and had time to sew one into a new block, I am sure I can get quite a few of these done in a night!

Top done
This is what I turned the little birdies into. It definitely didn't need as many seams as it has, but I was trying to be very precise. Now all I need to do is get it quilted!
There is SO much negative space, I could have added a few more birds. oh well, too late to change it now!

THIRD FINISH OF THE YEAR!!!!
It's only the second finish I have posted about it, the other is on it's way to the recipient and so I can't show pictures yet!

Since I had the quilting done, I could attach the binding!!

I did machine stitch the binding, but will definitely be doing it differently next time (but still by machine ;) )

And I got the quilt done!!! I am SO excited!!
I am linking up to Richard & Tanya's link a Friday finish.
