Sewing Room finished

It took a lot of work, but we finished the sewing room floors!!

I love how they look, I loved being able to say that we did it! I also love the color with my purple walls.

And I created this image with a before & after.

I love the purple so much! I cannot wait to show you how it looks with everything in here!

New sewing room

Since we recently moved, I got to pick a new sewing space!  And since we plan on being here a while, I wanted to put everything I have ever wanted in here.

Here is Earl in the closet.  I am excited to have a walk in closet, it's a lot easier to put things in, so much space!

I chose purple for the walls.  It's actually the same purple as my previous sewing space! I really liked that color!

I wanted to have hard floors, so we took up the carpet.  (After we painted ;) so we didn't have to worry about paint getting on the floors!)

Here is the room all cleaned out, with the box of floor boards on the floor.

And the first few pieces in the closet!

Fabric shelves

I have posted pictures of my sewing space before (here)

I had some large plastic shelves that I had rubbermaid totes that my fabric was in.  It felt big and intruding, and I wanted to have more space, AND be able to see my fabric.

So Scott bought me these lovely shelves from IKEA.  It is a Billy Bookcase.

I have bought some mini bold boards, and have been wrapping my fabric.  I had put some on the first bookshelf I bought, but pulled most of them to put them here.  On the other shelf I am putting all what I guess would be called Novelty fabrics, character fabrics, etc.

I love how it looks!! Hopefully it has enough room for all my fabric!

Sewing room refresh

My friend Christine came for a visit.  And she is allergic to cats.  So before she comes I generally try to clean up my sewing room.  After she left I decided that I wanted to completely rearrange my sewing space.  So my husband & I took almost everything out of the room and put it in the hallway.  Then we moved stuff around to try to find a space that would work.  I have a big room, but I have a lot of stuff (shelves and such) and I wanted to be able to get to my design wall.

Now I can access the full design wall!

My space is a big U, which it had been a U before, but not as large.  I feel like I can access everything from where I sit.

And of course I still have Scott's chair so he can keep me company ;)

When I brought things back into my sewing room, I found them a home, I didn't just put them in random spaces, I want to be more organized so I can spend more time sewing!

National Quilting day

I definitely did not have time to post on National Quilting day (March 16th) but I made sure I did some sewing :)

I rearranged a little since I last shared my sewing space

I cleared off some things from where I cut/iron to make more room for big things.

I moved the drawers over here, it will take some getting used to, having them in a different spot, but it's definitely been easier to iron with more space.
