Block Swap Adventure

I ended up having two partners for the month of March.  Sam  was my partner.  She had a few blocks to choose from.  I chose this one:

And this is the kitty she sent me. I don't feel like the colors are true to what she sent.  It's a gorgeous purple!

Swaps for April have already been sent out, but you can still sign up!!!!

August Block swap

Sandi was my block partner for August.  I made her a block right when the partners were mailed out.  I made this cute kitty for her.

Well it came time for the September swap and I hadn't heard from Sandi. I asked her if she had received it, and she said no :( so I am making her a second block.  I hope the first kitty gets there!

But here is the second kitty she got!

And since I was on a roll making kitties, I decided to whip one up for myself!  Here is the pattern I used, it's quite easy.

It's not in my colors for the swap, but I wanted to try one "backwards", ie facing the other way.

And here is the block she sent to me:

June blocks

I hate being this far behind! These are my June block swap blocks

My partner asked for a log cabin block in batiks. I have plenty of those, so that wasn't an issue, trying to decide which ones on the other hand, that was a chore!

This is the block I received! It is lovely!

Anyone is welcome to join up!!

Block swap adventure - may

My May block partner was Laurrie, she asked if I would want to swap two blocks.  Her pattern was On the Oregon Trail.

She asked for blues on whites.

I accidentally did the block slightly different than the directions, for the flying geese pieces, I had actually sewn the two "bricks" together, then I added the squares to make flying geese, I was worried it wouldn't fit together, but they did!!  I love how this block looks! I can add another block to my "I want to make a quilt out of this some day".  That's one of the things I love about Block Swap adventure, I am able to try out blocks I might not have tried out.  I am also able to meet some other lovely ladies!

Here are the two lovely little kitties I got from her!  I love their purply goodness!

It's never too late to join the block swap!!

Block swap - April

I was SO bad with my April block swaps, I feel really bad, but the ladies I talked to were more than understanding!

My first partner was Lynette at What a Hoot.  She asked for the block a mothers dream.

Here is the block I sent her.  Finding enough fabrics that looked like thanksgiving was tough!

Here is the kitty she sent me.

And my second partner was Carol.  She didn't have a block request, just that it was to be purple.  I found these fabrics, I thought they would go together nicely.

And they were ok. I am not sure how much I love them.  I am not sure there is enough contrast.

And here is the lovely kitty she sent me!!
