July Goals

Well my June goals were in the middle of the month, so shall be my July goals :p  Things have been kind of slow around here, mainly because I cannot share pictures of anything :( BOO!!! I have one top done, and am close on others.

We spent last week at a lake cabin with my husbands family, I took the featherweight and got some sewing done.  Which I am hoping to show soon.

on to the goals!

1. Post in my blog 7 times a month.  This one will be a stretch this month!! We have been busy since we got back from the lake, we are moving at the end of this month, so the packing has begun.  I have also been working on going through some of my craft stuff to cut down, like the five billion quilting magazines.  Which I love, but I am culling them down.  Pulling out the patterns I like, and I will putt hem in page protectors in a binder.

2. Finish 10 quilts this year.  I am on track for this.  School is starting up again soon (ACK! when did that happen!) and with moving and some other things going on in our lives, hopefully I can get some stuff accomplished!

3. And last but not least, get some UFOs done.  I haven't worked on that one at all, I am too busy on some other things.  It will definitely move to the top of the list once I get those projects done!

June goals check in

My June goals check is in late!! This school year has been crazy!! I haven't had much time to myself, and when I have, I have been sewing!! Without further ado, my goals for 2014. . .

1. Post in my blog 7 times a month.  I have been doing this!! maybe I should try 10 times a month, but I know when August and September hit, I might not get that.  But let's try!

2. I had changed this to finish 10 quilts this year.  Well I am on finish #5 (not posted yet) and I have 5 quilts I am currently working on (that I would like to have finished by the end of summer), then I also have two quilt tops done (that needs to be quilted), one other top that is almost done.  So maybe I will push this one to 15 finishes this year!

3. This is the one I need to start on, I have one UFO that is in rows, that I plan on actually making into two quilts.  And I would really like to get a good start on my husbands tee shirt quilt!  so much to do!

May Goals check in

1. I barely squeaked by last month!! I was not able to sew as much as I would have liked, going on Tuesdays really helps so that I get at least one night of sewing in!

2. I have changed this to finish 10 quilts this year.  I plan on doing one at the LQS on the long arm in a week.  Then I have another two tops that are done and ready to go.

3. Eeks!! Although I will say, since I have been rearranging my sewing room I have found a few that I really want to work on!!!

01 April 2014

Goals check in

1. Post in my blog 7 times a month.  Well March I posted 14 times!! woohoo!! Hopefully April I can keep it up (school will keep me busy, and I am starting a part time job).  But I plan on going to sit n stitch at the local quilt shop!

2. Finish 2 quilts on my home machine that are not just straight stitching. I think I might change this one to finish 10 quilts this year.  Which I think is EXTREMELY doable since I will hopefully have a long arm to rent soon!

3. Finish 5 UFOs.  Haven't started on that.  Let's see which 5 should I do? Scott's tee shirt quilt, my UNI quilt, my "quillow" (I'm not sure how great it will look as a quillow), my Sudoku quilt.  That's 4.  I will have to look through my UFO box.  I have 2 others, that really just need to be quilted that I see more as a project in progress.

01 March 2014

Goals check in

1. Post in my blog 7 times a month. Well since I have been in my sewing room a lot, I have been able to post way more than that! I just hope it can keep up!!

2. Finish 2 quilts on my home machine that is not just straight stitching.  If I do end up doing this one it will be baby blankets.  After doing the monster that was my dads quilt, I don't want to do anything that isn't just straight stitching.

3. Finish 5 UFOs.  Not a one done! but it is only the start of March.  Maybe I can work on one during my spring break.  Course I am not sure how viable this goal is, because I have three or four quilts that need to be finished, that I only want to do on a long arm.

Maybe I should add a fourth goal to hold myself accountable to it!  Making my husbands and my Christmas stockings!  I have made them for two friends, but I would really like to have some for him and I!

03 February 2014

February Goals check in

1. Post in my blog 7 times a month.  I posted 10 times in January!! Woohoo!! and I know I will have plenty of time to sew, and blog in the month of February!

2. I haven't had time for this, and this one sure does intimidate me, cause I am not sure I can drop the feed dogs on my machine! (Singer 99K)

3. I have my UFOs around, so that I will get them finished.  It's just finding the time!!

Did you make any goals for the year? how are they coming? (and when did February get here!)

Recap 2013 & goals for 2014

About a year ago I set up 3 goals for myself.

1. Post 100 times.  I posted 102! Just barely made it in!  The first trimester at school was a killer, I barely had any free time to myself!

2. Finish 7 quilts.  I did not get that done :( I finished 4 (full) quilts by the end of the year.  I have 3 tops that are done and one that is almost finished.  It is definitely because of not being able to use the long arm.  I LOVE long arming.  And quilting on a sewing machine is just not the same for me.

3. Try three different/new to me patterns.  I made rootbeer & bubble gum which had a modified Ohio star and a string quilt.  So only two new ones.

I am not sure what my goals for 2014 should be.  I would definitely like to be more present in the blogosphere.  I do know part of my struggle with this is time, it's not always the easiest when I am only on a PC for school.

1. Post in my blog 7 times a month.

2. Finish 2 quilts on my home machine that isn't just straight stitching.

3. Finish 5 UFOs.

We will see how things end up going!
