Scrappy trips

 I finished my two scrappy trips quilts in April.  I needed to use up two bobbins that had purple thread on them (I also need to buy more bobbins!)  So these were perfect.  I used up whatever I had at home to make the back.

The quilting actually didn't take long.  I think it's because I usually make bigger quilts.  But I got this one quilted in under and hour.  (That does not include loading it)

I did wavy lines going the same direction as each block.  Something different than a meander!

I have had some scrappy trips blocks for YEARS! I had joined a few swaps, so I have a lot of variety in my blocks.

I had originally thought about making the quilt 6x8 blocks, but after getting half of it done, I decided 4x6 is actually still a good size!

So I have enough blocks to make a second quilt!

Someone on Instagram was doing a scrappy trip along, but not as a swap, but just to get a top done.  And since I had done quite a few swaps, I have A LOT of blocks to use.  

Here they are laid out on my wall.  I LOVE having a design wall for instances like these.  I will say I definitely see different things when I take a picture rather than just having them up there.

I have loved being a part of scrappy trips swaps.  I have so much variety in my quilt!  I cannot wait to finish this one, it will definitely be on my 2018 finish list ;)

I signed up for another round of scrappy trips, so I thought I should lay out my blocks to show what I have.  Silly Pepé couldn't be bothered to move! 

There will only be one more round unless someone else steps up :(

I have been a part of the scrappy trip along bee for a few rounds now (I think this will be my third time?)

 I enjoy being a part of it!! There is SO much variety!! I also use it as time to make myself a few extra quilt blocks.  so hopefully I will have a top done. . .Sometime!  This was after the last round, I need to get a more up to date picture done!
