Eq8

I know I have posted about this before, but my mother in law gets me the BEST Christmas gifts!

I have known about EQ8 (Electric Quilt) for a while, but just hadn't justified the cost of it.  BUT oh my gosh!! If you don't have it, it's worth EVERY penny!!

I have already used it to help design multiple quilts (Now to find the time to sew them all!) I love that it will give me yardage requirements, no more second guessing and running out, or having to draw it all on paper and do the math!

On EQ's blog they are running a contest.  Using the Coco Chic fabric line, design a quilt.  This is what I came up with.  I like the strips and solid blocks.

One of the best things about EQ8 is how easy it is to audition different fabrics.  Here is another shot of the same quilt, with one fabric changed.

Here is a third shot of the quilt, with a slightly different design.  Instead of using cream blocks, I added some star blocks.

If you have ever been on the fence about getting EQ8, I would say GET IT! It definitely is a wonderful program that will end up saving you time and money! It it so handy to have (as you will see in some future posts ;) )

Wristlets

You could definitely say this was a "Dog under my desk" Christmas!

I bought her wristlet pattern and decided a few female members of my family would receive these.

I chose to use the boxed version.  And since these were my first ones, I didn't add an interior pocket.

My cricut also helped.  I used it to cut out the fabric.  And then used it to cut out vinyl with

I LOVE how these turned out, and will definitely be making a lot more!

Here are the three I put initials on.

Ornaments!

I worked on these ornaments at the craft day I was at a few weeks ago, but I just added the buttons to it.  I just hot glued some buttons I had.

I really like how these turned out!

Table runner #3

I believe I shared this exact same table runner already!! But this was the 3rd one my mother in law got, I also gave one similar to my sister in law.  Hers only had 3 presents, I wasn't sure how long her table was.

I was so excited to give these as Christmas presents, I am going to try to make more home made things from now on.  I just need to start sooner in the year :)

Table runner #2

Here is the fall table runner I made for my mother in law.

This one has a story. I posted pictures of some leaves I had made in the spring. I made them into a runner, well actually two. I knew where they were in my sewing room until I went to quilt them!

I searched high and low and just could not find them! So I ended up making the one you see above.

Well last night I finished the binding on a quilt. I didn't have any other pressing projects, so I decided to clean up my sewing room. Instead of organizing strips as I cut them I just leave them in a pile. As I was putting them away you'll never guess what I found! The original two table runners!

I was quite amused.

Holiday table runner

I am not sure how well you can see it, but here is a table runner I made for my mother in law. She actually got three this year!

I will have to get pictures of the other two later, but I thought I would share this one now.

Table runner

I made some table runners off a pattern I saw on pinterest.  I loved this project because it was a stashbuster.  I didn't have to cut into big pieces.

I just love how pretty the presents are!

I even went scrappy on the back and used some left over 4" squares that I had.

Stockings

I have a friend who asked me to make stockings for her family.

Here is all five of them.

This is the mom's stocking.  She likes purple, so I made sure hers had lots of purple!

This is the little girls stocking.

This is the little boys stocking.

this is the dads stocking.

And this is the oldest boys stocking.

Stocking test run

I had a friend who asked me to make stockings for her family, I also wanted to make some for my husband and I.  so I decided to use some scraps around the house to make up a mock one, just to decide how I was going to put it together, and this is what I came up with:

I tweaked the shape a little bit for my next one.  But I am excited to make them for my husband and myself! His shall have colts fabric, and mine shall have lots of purple.

I think the only thing I would do differently from this one, is to try a French seam on it, because I had to do a seam on the outside just to make sure it would stay together (the inside wouldn't "come out").

Christmas sewing!

I made this last year for my husband's grandma.  It's actually double sided.  The other side is a thanksgiving side.  I don't have a picture of that though.

And these are little ornaments I made for the ladies in my department.  I hope they like them!

I am working on my "roll roll cotton ball quilt" and cleaning up!  Because my sewing room got kind of messy!  I rearranged since I got my serger back, and I am quite happy about that :)

I hope you all have a good Christmas!
