Sewing Room finished

It took a lot of work, but we finished the sewing room floors!!

I love how they look, I loved being able to say that we did it! I also love the color with my purple walls.

And I created this image with a before & after.

I love the purple so much! I cannot wait to show you how it looks with everything in here!

New sewing room

Since we recently moved, I got to pick a new sewing space!  And since we plan on being here a while, I wanted to put everything I have ever wanted in here.

Here is Earl in the closet.  I am excited to have a walk in closet, it's a lot easier to put things in, so much space!

I chose purple for the walls.  It's actually the same purple as my previous sewing space! I really liked that color!

I wanted to have hard floors, so we took up the carpet.  (After we painted ;) so we didn't have to worry about paint getting on the floors!)

Here is the room all cleaned out, with the box of floor boards on the floor.

And the first few pieces in the closet!

Sewing room refresh

My friend Christine came for a visit.  And she is allergic to cats.  So before she comes I generally try to clean up my sewing room.  After she left I decided that I wanted to completely rearrange my sewing space.  So my husband & I took almost everything out of the room and put it in the hallway.  Then we moved stuff around to try to find a space that would work.  I have a big room, but I have a lot of stuff (shelves and such) and I wanted to be able to get to my design wall.

Now I can access the full design wall!

My space is a big U, which it had been a U before, but not as large.  I feel like I can access everything from where I sit.

And of course I still have Scott's chair so he can keep me company ;)

When I brought things back into my sewing room, I found them a home, I didn't just put them in random spaces, I want to be more organized so I can spend more time sewing!

National Quilting day

I definitely did not have time to post on National Quilting day (March 16th) but I made sure I did some sewing :)

I rearranged a little since I last shared my sewing space

I cleared off some things from where I cut/iron to make more room for big things.

I moved the drawers over here, it will take some getting used to, having them in a different spot, but it's definitely been easier to iron with more space.

Sewing room

Michaels had a good deal on some plastic storage, and they were exactly what I was looking for.  So I bought them.  But that meant I wanted to clean up.

Jordan was out and she helped me.

I almost don't want to sew it's so clean!!

My sewing room

There was a Jo-Ann's near us that was closing.  Between getting giftcards and having some cash from a side job I was doing, I went a little overboard!
So if you bought a full bolt, you got 70% off.  So I went a little overboard, but I figured plans for most of it.  But some of it (that green at the bottom) I bought because it was pretty.

But after buying all that fabric I was feeling a little overwhelmed because of how much there was.

This is my IKEA table, I have a cutting mat on it, but it ends up getting left overs piled on it.

The bins on the left are new.  I am working on organizing them.  Some have my small squares (2 3/4, 3", 3.5", 4", etc).  And other are sewing supplies.

All those colored bins are projects that are started in some way.

Here is a full shot of the closet.  I have so much stuff, I need to sew more and quit buying so much!

New sewing room

My husband and I recently found a new (rental) place.  And of course one of the first things we set up, was my sewing room!!   It's bigger than my last one that is for sure, but I am having problems making it all fit! of course my LARGE shelves to hold everything are effecting that.

I will definitely post pictures as more of it comes together.  I am going to do A LOT of organizing before I can do much sewing :( and school starts towards the end of this month, so my ability to sew will be greatly diminished.  But I will still be attending sit n stitch on Tuesday nights, and the once a month meeting in Indy.

My sewing room

This is by far the smallest sewing room I have had.  I had things just piled up.  Well we decided to do something about it.  So my husband took measurements, and then we bought these huge shelve things!

There are 3 of them, and they are WONDERFUL!! This was just with my husband putting everything on the shelves, I am going through and rearranging things, making sure quilt blocks are put into boxes so I can find them, projects together instead of just put where ever!

And this is the rest of my sewing room (it looks a little messy right now since some of the stuff just got piled onto my cutting table.

It's been far too long!

It has been WAAAY too long!! I am sorry I haven't posted.  Although I haven't had a lot to report.  I did not use my sewing machine for almost 2 months, from January til March. . .and I have been working on things, but I don't feel done enough to post pictures!  I will hopefully have time to get a picture post of what I was working on late tonight (Friday morning ;) ) But to tide you over I have some pictures of my sewing area.

I was talking with Jan and we were discussing our sewing rooms. . .And I decided to show her my messy area!

These are a bunch of tubs with fabric, I don't have the shelves I have used in the past to put my fabric on, so it's just kind of in boxes.
This is the other side.  My computer, machines, and main table I use.  It's kind of hard to see in the picture, but under the table I have 2 plastic storage bins.  I stole Bonnie Hunter's ideas for some of my scraps.  When I have pieces that I can't use anymore I cut them up into strips, 1.5", 2", 2.5" & 3".  Then in the one next to it, I have my values quilt parts, and just some other random bits.  It's amazing how much those little plastic things have helped!
These are my dollar store bins.  I love them, not the color so much :p But they are great for scraps.  I can put them there and pull them as I need them for leaders and enders.
Jan showed me a picture of her scraps, thinking that my bin above was all I had :P So I had to show her the rest of it :) This is one of those space bags. . .I stuffed it as full as I could of scraps. . .
And it wasn't even all of it! These are all my "crumbs" since moving!
And since I ran out of room in the bag, I found a box that had some room and shoved them in the bottom!
And then my strips scrap box!
And last but not least my LARGE pile of 4" squares.  Which I am still trying to use all of :p

Ok back to sewing :) I hope you enjoyed seeing my sewing area, and some of my scraps :)

It's a mystery!

So I WANTED to post this last night. . .But my internet was being SLOOOOW, it's still being kind of slow with Netflix this afternoon too :/ I might have to pop in a DVD instead for the time being!

But my post!

We just moved, and I was unpacking my "sewing area".  I no longer have a room, but half of the living room.  NOT that I am complaining! It's MUCH MUCH bigger than my last sewing room, and maybe bigger than my first sewing room?  But it's not a room, it's more an area. . .I do have a view of our big screen from my sewing area.

I unpacked a few things, my sewing room has always been the first thing that has been unpacked! It's the most important right?!

So I wanted to work on something but not everything is unpacked, so I couldn't just pull out one of my projects. . .

So I decided to start something, and you get some "hints" of what it is.  When I have some more done I will post the link, but I am going to be a tease for now!

On to the important stuff!! PICTURES!!

So here are two pictures of my sewing area ^^ on one side you can see my machine, computer, and some other random stuff (bottom pic) on the other you can see boxes and boxes and boxes, and my desk, which is where I will probably put our printer.  I am not 100% sure how I am going to do the rest of it (as is evident by the machine in the middle of the room :p)
And here is the mystery stuff ;) Any ideas on what you think it is?  I will tell you they are strips from my strip scrap box (that sounds weird!) But that is all I am saying ;)
