Casting Cats mini quilt

I signed up to do a swap on instagram.  It's like a white elephant gift exchange.  You don't know who you are making for, because people get to vote on which mini quilt they want!  I did a informal poll on instagram, and most people wanted cats.

So I went with this pattern, casting cats by Cate Tallman-Evans, of blank designs.  I honestly don't know where I found the pattern, it was a free PDF download.  I have had it saved for quite a while!

I am not following the pattern with just three colors of cats, I decided to do pairs of two with contrasting fabric.

Cat mini

I have not done any swaps on instagram lately because I just don't have the time, I barely have the time to get the stuff I want done!

But I had to sign up for this one! It was a kitty mini swap! And since I love kitties, I had to do this one!

My partner asked for brights.  This is what I started with. . .

This is what I put on the back

And here is how the front ended up

Birthday swap January

The background was a little too busy, but it's got a lot of potter in it!

The patterns I used were from https://sewhooked.com/harry-potter/

Harry Potter mini quilt swap

I have loved Harry Potter since it came out, first the books, then the movies.  There was a mini quilt swap for Harry Potter, so I had to sign up!

This is what I made my partner.  A mini with the crest.  I also sent along some gryffindor goodies.

Here is what my partner sent me!  She made the wrapping paper herself!! and look at those adorable cross stitch characters!!

Here is my mini, the picture is kind of crappy because I took the picture in my car, and I keep forgetting to take a picture in the house!  She said this was her first mini and I think she did LOVELY!!!

Spring Fling

Here is the finished mini I made for the Spring fling swap.  I am VERY happy with how this came out.  And of course I forgot to take picture before shipping it.

So you can see the binding and kind of see the quilting here.  I thought the brown would nicely frame it.
